Directions & Traffic Info

The first advice to give about getting here is – arrive early!

The Country Fayre starts at 11am with the Parade through the High Street and by then the village is already very busy.

Car parks will be filling up and thousands of people will be here enjoying the day. Car parks open at 9am prompt and the main event fields will be opening at 10am.

Entering the village

2017 sees a change to parking facilities used in previous years.

There is only ONE Main Car Park on fields adjoining Kinver High School, with Disabled parking at Foley Infants School.

You should approach via the A449 Stourton/Stewponey, at the traffic lights take the A458 (signposted Bridgnorth), follow for approximately three quarters of a mile, then left into Hyde Lane, Kinver.


When you get to Hyde Lane, simply follow the signs to the main car park which is at Kinver High School.

An alternative entrance to the village is from the south via Dunsley Road off the A449, past the Vine pub but ..

Please note that there is no car park at Church Hill this year.




Main Event Parking & Charges


Arriving via Hyde Lane follow signs for parking at Kinver High School.

If you are a disabled badge holder please enter via Hyde Lane where disabled parking will be signposted and available at Foley Infants School.

Parking is £3.00 per car and all car parks will close by 7.00pm, so please make sure you have left the car park by then.

Events in the High Street are free. However, entrance to the main event fields is £6.00 per adult (£5 in advance), with free entrance for under 13 years.

If you wish to stay in the village later to enjoy the restaurants, you can move your car to any of the High Street car parks after 6pm.


Minibuses may be parked on the designated car parks at a charge of £5. This charge DOES NOT include any showground tickets, which must be purchased separately.


Unfortunately we do not have facilities for coach parking. You may drop off passengers, but you will be unable to park within the village.

Motorcycle Parking

moto parkingHard standing is available for motorcycles at the main car park. To gain access please use the A458 and the Hyde Lane access route. You will then be directed to this parking facility. We regret that we are unable to offer storage facilities for helmets or riding gear.

Disabled Drivers

Specific disabled parking has been provided. Please enter the village from the A458 into Hyde Lane. Upon reaching the junction at Potters Cross, TURN LEFT and then TURN RIGHT into Meddins Lane following the signs. At the top of Meddins Lane, TURN LEFT into Compton Road and follow the directional signs down into Stone Lane towards the village where you will see an  EXCLUSIVE disabled parking area. You will be required to show your Disabled Parking Permit.

Parking Restrictions

Before you park in front of somebody’s house, consider the inconvenience this may cause the owner. Please ensure you use the allocated event parking which is signposted when entering the village

Traffic Movement during Road Closure Periods

road closedRoad Closure Restrictions have been put in place to ensure visitors’ safety. Designated event visitor parking is available by following the relevant signs.

Please act in accordance with any direction signs and road closures to ensure you remain within the regulated road laws.

Pedestrian access remains unchanged and accessible at all times.

Road Closures

Full details, including a map showing all of the roads involved, may be inspected during normal working hours at the office of:

High Street / Enville Road – from its junction with Church Hill to the entrance of Kinver High School. Mill Lane – between its junction with High Street / Church Hill and the canal bridge adjacent to The Vine Inn. The closure of Mill Lane at its junction with High Street / Churchill is expected to be effective between 10:30 and 11:30 to assemble the Parade. Main road closures will be in place at 9am and remain until 5:30pm or earlier if deemed safe to re-open

The Holloway – closed at either end to prevent traffic conflict on Mill Lane –

unless the vehicle is being used in connection with the event; or is being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

There are various side roads affected by the main road closures to prevent access into the closed areas, roads affected are: bottom of Foster St / James St, Castle St, Legion Drive, Stone Lane, The Burgesses and any other side areas including car parks falling within the closure areas.

The alternative routes will be as follows: High Street / Enville Road – Church Hill, Church Road, The Compa, Stone Lane, Compton Road, Meddins Lane and vice versa. Mill Lane – Dunsley Road, A449 Kidderminster Road, A458 Bridgnorth Road, Hyde Lane.

Throughout the duration of the Order it will be also necessary to temporarily prohibit waiting at any time on: Mill Lane (both sides) – from its junction with High Street / Church Hill to the canal bridge adjacent to The Vine. Church Hill – from its junction with Mill Lane to its junction with The Compa. Cookley Lane – from its junction with Church Hill.
